Basically, my brain has kidnapped Noah Puckerman and decided he's secretly really angsty. This kind of just fell together as I started writing this story, so if you're into that kinda stuff, I'd say listen and read because while this was certainly inspired by the Puck of the show, I think it's even more applicable to the Puck of that fic. And be sure to let me know what you think! I have no shame and (not so) secretly revel in feedback.

I wanted to put together a grand, sparkly picspam retrospective of these two lovely fictional human beings who are easily what I consider the best executed pairing in any show I have ever watched from start to finish, but things have gotten hectic, so I want to post it before I: A) forget, B) get really busy and don't have the time to post it, and C) start posting my mini-fanmixes.

If you've ever watched The West Wing you know why they're perfect. No need for an introduction. I do need to give a little context however to explain where I was coming from with this bad boy, but I'll save it for under the cut so I don't give anything away to people who haven't watched the show yet. I can tell you this though: every single song reminds me of a specific episode/moment in the latter two seasons of The West Wing. If you can guess each, I'll give you a present! (No, for real. We'll come up with something together, and even if it'll take a while, you'll get it. THATS HOW COMMITTED I AM TO THIS MIX.)

So you know when you already really, really love an artist, and then you see them live and it's like you're hearing them for the first time? THAT TOTALLY HAPPENED TO ME WITH JOHN LEGEND. Not only did he sound absolutely phenomenal (I credit that to a day off before the show to rest his pipes) but oh. my. goddddddddddd. I knew you were attractive, J, BUT THE COMBINATION OF YOU + YOUR VOICE + YOUR HIPS AND ARMS FOR TWO HOURS STRAIGHT WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE. No, really. My ovaries are still aching. My friends and I were like flailing, crying thirteen year olds at a NKOTB concert, I'm so not exaggerating. Oh, and then there was the fact that he opened with REDEMPTION SONG. AND HE WAS WEARING ALL WHITE AND A PURPLE JACKET. You guys, my ovaries, THEY ACHE. He played alllllll my favorite songs (except "She Don't Have to Know" and "Show Me") and his back up singers were kind of extremely awesome -- they complemented him so well! And were surprisingly classy! -- and his band was fantastic. OH AND HE ALSO PULLED A GIRL UP ON STAGE WHEN HE SANG "SLOW DANCE" (which, by the way, has now taken on a ridiculously sexy life in my brain that it never really had before. Could you do that with your man yeah?) AND HE TOOK OFF HIS SHIRT FOR HIS ENCORE AND SANG "ORDINARY PEOPLE" IN A WIFEBEATER. Now okay, see, don't go thinking he was all "ooh baby I'm so sexy look at me" because the amazing thing was that HE WASN'T LIKE THAT AT ALL. Everything about his sexiness was SO SUBTLE AND AMAZING. It was all his confidence and swagger and the utterly glorious way he strutted across the stage and vaguely danced and moved his hips and touched his stomach and FJlJFKDSJFKDL, PICSPAM PLEASE:

Okay so ordinarily, I'd start this off with the photoshoot shots, but breaking up this structure would be a travesty. So instead!:

part one:

YOU GUYS. HIS FASHION SENSE. IT KILLS ME. The first shot is my favorite of this set, but I'm surprised by how much I LOVE his beige seersucker-ish type suit. The past few weeks, I've seen all these guys wearing full seersucker suits on the train on my way to work, and every time I laugh hysterically in my mind. BUT IT LOOKS SO GOOD ON THIS DUDE. Also-- his penchant for white suits? I ACTUALLY REALLY LOVE IT. I didn't include any shots of him rocking one, but he pulls it off amazingly.

Oh oh oh! The white suit! Leather! That look that he totally copies from Lupe! Those first two pictures are more distinctly him though, I think the scarf thing was just a phase (I don't feel like it actually suits his personality?)

PLAYA. If this were anyone else, I'd be so turned off, BUT IT'S J. HOW CAN I NOT FIND EVERYTHING HE DOES HOT?

I find it hilariously fitting that John Fucking Legend dates models. I try to reserve judgement on girlfriends, and I know nothing about this girl except that she's half-Thai, half-Norwegian, and is GORGEOUS (they must still be dating, because a stunningly beautiful woman who looked like her was with him when he left the WH). I have to admit though, I find it really hard to believe that he writes songs about his model girlfriend(s). IN FACT, I'm fairly certain they're all about ME.

OKAY SO. I really wanted to go to sleep like an hour ago but I forced myself to stay awake and finish this now because if I don't, who knows when I'd get around to it! Now that I spend all of my time at work in front of a computer, I find that I have very little desire to go on when I come home. The worst part about it though is that they block social networking sites (and thus, this) there, so while I can read people's responses, I can't reply! Which is why I didn't get a chance to reply to everyone's hilarious/awesome comments on my last post or the one before that. SORRY Y'ALL, I decided it was more ~*important*~ for me to spend my evening finishing this.

NEWSFLASH: DAVID TENNANT HAS IMMACULATE HAIR. No, seriously. I'm pretty sure that there isn't another man on the face of this Earth who has a better head of hair than him. DON'T TRY TO CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE BECAUSE I WILL NOT BELIEVE YOU AND PROBABLY WILL POINT AND LAUGH AT YOUR NAIVETY. This picspam started as a celebration of his lucious locks-- a sort of "Hall of Fame Moments," if you will. But then it quickly devolved into a (really, really, really) incomplete collection of photos of David Tennant being really attractive. And having immaculate hair. That's good though, right? Because then it leaves the door open for future picspams. OKAY SO I JUST LISTENED TO IT. MANY TIMES THROUGH. Actually, once or twice all the way through, and then just my favorite tracks from it. I still haven't decided what I think of it as a unit. There are certainly flashes of brilliance, but it's not a War/Joshua Tree/Achtung Baby/ATYCLB and I may even say that I liked How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb more, but DUDE, THEY TOTES RECORDED THIS IN MORROCCO AND I CAN TELL. They've got this funky Arab undercurrent to some of the tracks, and content-wise, parts of it feel really relevant to that part of the world. It's interesting, it's kind of a mish-mash of an album. I hear a lot of different eras of their career in it, but also a hint of something else...IDK, I SHOULD STOP TALKING I DON'T REALLY HAVE ANYTHING RELEVANT TO SAY. All I know is that I'm not going to listen to anything anyone says about it because people are buzzkills and jerks when it comes to U2 and you know what? Even if I end up deciding that I didn't like the album very much, it doesn't really matter because the fact that these four men exist makes me deliriously happy. Anywayyy, my favorites from the new one are "Breathe" and "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight" (LOL BONO WHY ARE YOUR TITLES SO LAME SOMETIMES?), because um! I’ve found grace inside a sound aaaaand the sweetest melody is the one we haven't heard.

And then I saw them liiiive in high school and WAS WITHIN FEET OF BONO AND IT KIND OF CHANGED MY LIFE. We got a ticket for my older brother, too, but he was in college and listened to the Pixies and Pavement and therefore was ~*~too cool~*~ for U2, so in the middle of the concert, which we had gen admission tickets on the floor (right by the heart!) to, he A) left in the middle to get a Diet Coke, and B) obnoxiously asked me in the middle of the show "IS THAT ONE EDGE?!?!" because he thought it was funny. Needless to say, IT TOTALLY WAS.

01. SLOAN ANE LEXIE! SLOAN AND LEXIE! Ugh, they're made of so much awesome, BUT WHY DON'T THEY GET MORE LEGIT SCREENTIME? It's simply unacceptable. I loved the beginning and Mark sneaking out and trying to play it cool with Derek, haaa. And TYNE DALY AS DEREK'S MOM! SO LOVELY! Her little spiel about how Mark has always had low expectations for himself since he was a little boy was so wonderful. AND LOLOLOL HER INTERROGATING LEXIE = AMAZING. What happeneddddd, we used to get so many great Lexie scenes and now she's POOF, gone. It sucks. A lot. Izzie/Ghost is still painful as hell, but Alex! The thought of him taking Izzie to visit his mom is killing me, you guys. Killing me. Which also makes whatever will eventually happen to her and why she's seeing Denny even worse. And oh godddddd, that last scene with Hunt and Christina. THEY ARE SO ~*~EPIC~*~, NO? It's like Burke/Christina 2.0 EXCEPT TOTALLY BETTER. In a nutshell, I really loved this episode! Even the cases that came in and the whole death row inmate bit. Even though I'm the last person to know what fandom thinks, I have a feeling people generally think the show has gone down the crapper? And I thought so too except now I really don't. I may have not watched it for a year and a half before this season but I really do think it's the best it's been since season two.

02. This is the greatest picspam I have ever laid eyes on, and I'm not exaggerating. Can you say GLAMOROUS GLAMOROUS? I just want to eat them all up. This is basically the real life cast of The West Wing and I can't stop flailing. I WANT TO BE BFF WITH REGGIE LOVE AKA CHARLIE YOUNG. And HAY JON FAVREAU, my offer to be your wife still stands. Hollaaaaaa Tom Daschle, ILU Valerie Jarrett, HAY RAHM BABY, David Axelrod you are so adorkable, JOEY B YOU SILVER FOX YOU, etc. etc. etc. OUR WHITE HOUSE WILL BE SO FLIPPIN' HOT, GUYS. AMAZING. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. On a completley superficial level, I was constantly distracted by how stunning Cate Blanchett is, and oh my goooooooooooodness, when Benjamin finally got old(/young)? SO MUCH PRETTY, MY HEART CAN'T HANDLE IT. The scenes of them in their duplex with Twist and Shout playing turned my insides to jelly. BRAD'S LITTLE TWIST ON THE MATTRESS! God, they were just so lovely together, weren't they? I love it when Brad Pitt proves to the world that he's more than just a pretty face. He was so fantastic in this, I can't even begin to say.

I really wanted to see this but at the same time I was kind of wary about the length at first, but BOY WAS I WRONG. It literally needed every single minute it had. I haven't read the F. Scott Fitzgerald story (I meant to before I went, but I totally forgot!) but in the first half, I definitely felt his style and personality conveyed through the film, which I thought was such an amazing feat. And also, I don't know how they did this, but watching the first half/first two thirds, it literally felt like I was reading a book. I was just overwhelmed by this almost magical feeling-- it's so hard to describe! But then once we moved into more recent history it felt like a movie movie, which just further emphasized the theme of the passing of time, and life, and how people and places and things evolve and change (and in many ways, don't change) over time. God, the themes they delve into in this were so resonant and moving I don't even know if I can really elaborate on them because they're such a jumbled mess in mind. But the fact that the hurricane was Katrina and we're to presume most of the people in that hospital died, and Benjamin's story was lost and gone forever? Incredible. The recurring images of the sea and storms and the contradictory nature of life, in that we have no idea what experiences await us, and yet we all know what our ultimate fate will be? And GOD, the way they represented time and integrated the past and present, and fiction and reality was remarkable. And at the same time, conveying so wonderfully the history of New Orleans without slapping us across the face and saying HEY THIS IS A STORY ABOUT NEW ORLEANS. Because it wasn't and yet it was? It was a story about life and what it means to be alive. And even though so much of it is about loss, it's really about the endurance and resiliance of the human spirit in the face of a cruel and indifferent nature.

I WANT TO WRITE AN ESSAY ON HOW WONDERFUL THIS FILM IS! Because each moment that passes, more and more of it falls into place in my mind. And all of the characters were such perfect, crystalline people, and the way they used symbols and imagerey was so striking! It literally felt like I was reading an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, which just blew me away. I wish I could be more substantive and concrete with what I thought! Blerg. All I know is that seeing Benajamin become a child and walk down the street with Daisy made me cry. THIS IS WHAT FICTION IS MEANT TO BE. This is it.

With that said and done, I NOW PRESENT PART ONE OF MY HOLIDAY GIFT TO YOU ALL! I recognize that this won't necessarily hit the spot for everyone on the flist since I know at least a few of you don't swing this way, but hopefully the pretty will be appreciated nonetheless! One of these days I'll get around to doing a picspam of my favorite ladies as well, I promise.

Anyhow! About a year ago, I put together a picspam of my absolute favorite thing in the whole entire world: A WELL-DRESSED MAN. What started out as My Favorite Men Wearing Beautiful Clothes somehow turned into a celebration of men in general? BECAUSE WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE? The few things that will eternally frustrate me about them (their stubborn inability to just get a fucking clue? their inferior intelligence? LOL I JUST WENT THERE) are almost always overshadowed by the fact that they are just such lovely creatures! Walking around in tailored suits and oxford shirts and form-fitting crew neck sweaters, and oh boy, wearing sunglasses that say so much about them while also always, always, always making them look infinitely hotter than they already are? Don't get me wrong, the number one x238942890 thing that I find attractive in a guy (and I'm not just saying this) is their intelligence/sense of humor (it's a tie). HOWEVER, being really attractive and having good taste in clothes never hurt anyone, did it?

MY INTRODUCTION IS SO LAME, I NEED TO STOP. I should have had thecolorbetween write an ~honorary preface~ because she's so good at them! Plus, she gets it. AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT, CLAIRE? Next time.

Let us begin with (suprise!) BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL MEN IN BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SUITS! I started by grouping these according to theme but that...didn't last long. Somehow I don't think you guys will really mind. OH AND ALSO: I definitely put this together at random times and didn't size all the pictures appropriately, so pretend like everything is uniform and pretty, 'kay?

KHAKIS AND BEIGES: A tan man's best friend.

Um, I feel silly starting this off with Brad Pitt given the incredible picspam that captaincatapult recieved in the gift exchange, but LOL WHO CARES. This may not look like it's beige, but trust me, it totally is. And as I notice his stubble (nnnggghhhh why do I find stubbly faicial hair so excruciatingly wonderful?) and buzz cut, I'm wondering what you all prefer: short hair or long? Facial hair or clean shaven? It definitely depends on the guy, sure, but for the most part, I prefer grown out hair (not too long, but not too short-- long enough to be hot/adorable if he doesn't make it in the morning and to necessecitate him to actually make it before he goes out) and a bit of a stubble. OH LORD, THE DIGRESSIONS ARE ALREADY HERE. This is going to be a long spam.

I KIND OF MADE MYSELF LOL BY INCLUDING CHACE AND MCSTEAMY. But! It would be downright criminal to not include that shot of Chace, so. Oh, and hiiiiiiiiiiiiii Diego Luna, I don't appreciate you enough. And just for the record, it's taking every ounce of strength I have to not launch myself at that photo of Lee Pace!. His perfection makes me so :D I get kind of D:? True story.

GREYS: Like sunshine on a cloudy day.

SO CLASSY. I know that lighter suits are generally for the daytime, but I feel like grey suits kind of walk the line. Depending on the shade, I guess? And they're just so versatile! You'd think it would be super lame and boring (c'mon, it's grey) but something about them just drive me crazy. As a side note: RDJ's eyes are super pretty and the vague hint of WTFery on Gosling's face kind of cracks me up. Plus, CLOONEY! Is it not cool to like George Clooney? I don't know, nor do I really care. Sure, he's obvious and there are about 23849302890890 middle-aged, Oprah-watching housewives who would gladly leave their husbands to become his mistress/have his babies!!!11! but he has such a classic appeal to him. He's like an updated verison of the suave, debonair leading men from the 30s/40s, and he's also super talented! IT'S ALWAYS THE TALENTED ONES THAT GET ME.

PINSTRIPES: Oh my goddddd, F's favorite since FOREVER.

I cannot tell you why I think pinstripes are so hot, I JUST DO. If you could help explain this mystery of life to me, it would be much appreciated.

TUXES: It says he wants to be formal, BUT HE'S HERE TO PARTY.

Surprisingly, not my favorite? But I've definitely been conditioned to find them ~charming~. TAYLAH KITSCH! I see you there.

They're alright, but HOLY SMOKES, REALLY INCREDIBLY HOT WHEN UNDONE, I WILL TELL YOU THIS. I also think they look insanely classy when sported by the right guy to the right event. I definitely prefer regular ties, but I have to give a shout out to the really cute lacrosse player in my grade in high school who occasionally wore bowties and proved that (a) people other than Steve Urkel can pull them off, and (b) they can actually be really hot? I don't really know where this picspam came from. It just happened; divine inspiration, maybe. At first, there was a method to my madness, but as time wore on, and my number of pictures went from 50 to 100 to 150, it took on a life of it's own. It was born from my biggest weakness in life: an impeccably dressed man. There is just something about a man in a gorgeous, perfectly tailored suit that just fucking gets me every time. And to top it off, having the man in said gorgeous tailored suit be, himself, gorgeous...Well that's just icing on the cake. So that's how this began; me wanting to celebrate the glory of beautiful men in beautiful suits. With time, it kind of morphed into something else, but I think the general theme of good-looking dudes holds.

Before I start though, even though I only included two pictures of him, I just want to say that Pete Yorn's Flickr album is the best tour diary ever. It's quirky and funny and cool and adorable and just so very rock and roll. The captions are so entertaining and the concert shots are gorgeous. I love clap, hippies, clap! at Bonnaroo, Malcolm's banana hands, and Oscar time! Oh, Pete.

NOW. Let the games begin.

I didn't know if I should separate them by person or by theme, or just in chronological order of my picking them, so I'll just do a combination of all of the above. I wouldn't rule the 80s and early 90s out) and still be on my Top Five List (The Laminated Version) but COME ON. I think this GQ shoot of his is my favorite of all time. Just the combination of his hair and facial hair (which I usually don't dig, but on him it just WORKS) his expression of super seriousness slash angst and the suit and JUST THAT FIRST PICTURE. Christian Bale! My word. All the above and the fact that the accompanying interview had one of my favorite quotes from a celebrity ever: (on why he would never be in a romantic comedy) "Romantic comedies tend to be, for me, an oxymoron." Oh oh oh. OH.

HEY! I KNOW YOU! You won an Oscar, right? And then proceeded to make out with your presenter, who just happened to be Halle Berry. Yeahhh, I remember you. For some reason, Adrien is the king of designer menswear in my eyes. I don't really know why because he also has this pseudo-thug side and he'll wear chunky bling and crooked hats and look kind of ridiculous sometimes, but somehow that makes him even more attractive and endearing. The fact that you can pull off different styles and still seem completely, 100% natural and perfect in each. This guy really knows how to wear a suit.

I distinctly remember getting this issue of Vanity Fair in high school, tearing out the pages, and taping them to my wall. It was during my tweed phase (which I think I may still be in). Oh, and: three piece suit! And I thiiink argyle socks. But the best thing about his outfit here is THE HAIR. Holy shit, that hair. (PS Hi Wentworth! You're pretty as well! And also wearing tweed!)

Navy suit, maroon tie. The scruff. Double breasted grey suit, no tie. Oh, fashion is this man's BITCH. The dark three piece suit with no tie and a sneaky grin KILLS ME. And who else on this planet could wear a red cardigan and still look so FIERCE? No one. Only Beckham.

DANCY. So I read The Jane Austen Book Club the other day, and can I just say...He will make THE. BEST. GRIGG. I absolutely cannot wait. I also re-watched Ella Enchanted when I babysat my nieces, and he is so adorable and lovely in that movie! I think that may be one of my favorite kids/family movies. It's so cute but witty and FUN FOR ALL AGES. There was absolutely no need for that to be in all caps, but I JUST CAN'T STOP!

Fucking hell. The one and only. Depp, I just don't know. I love when he gets respectable haircuts and wears normal clothes; it's such a treat. And when it happens, you're suddenly hit by this wave of, "oh my god, how is it possible for you to be more attractive than I ever thought you were under all that stuff?!" He cleans up well. Which doesn't matter, as it were. Because he's pretty perfect either way. PS pinstripes! And is it weird for me to find his ankles to be extremely hot? (Yes, yes it is.)

A little too straightforwardly pretty for my taste, but it would be a travesty not to include him here. Black suit! Striped tie! Rolled up sleeves! Man, men.

Ha, James McAvoy! I don't really find him to be OHMYGODATTRACTIVE, but I strangely love him. It might have to do with his eyes. And his accent. And other similarly superficial qualities. Okay, fiiine, his talent as well. Anywayysss, lets move on.

vi. Once upon a time...

I WAS HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH JAKOB DYLAN. I distinctly remember waking up for school in eighth grade and listening to Bringing Down The Horse every morning as I got ready. I still adore the Wallflowers, man. At least the first two albums because I don't have anything after that. But UM HELLO. Jakob Dylan was totally the cat's meow. I just about died when that Rolling Stone came out with the first picture as the cover. And the "Sleepwalker" video...Speaking of which:
